Emergency Services Day – CANCELLED

UPDATED 16.07.2025 – Emergency Services Day has been Cancelled

Banbury Town Council and Thames Valley Police have made the decision to cancel the 2025 Emergency Services Day, which was due to be held in Spiceball Park on the 30th August.

The decision was made primarily to ease the workload of Thames Valley Police staff during an extremely busy period for all emergency services.

While Banbury Emergency Services Day is supported by Banbury Town Council, it is delivered through Thames Valley Police, who consulted with the council before reluctantly deciding to cancel the event.
The decision was not taken lightly by either organisation, but was deemed in the best interests of all emergency services teams who will now be able to redirect time and resources required from such commitments to their duties throughout the incredibly busy summer period.

Last year’s Emergency Services Day was a very popular event with hundreds of visitors, and saw participation from a wide array of local emergency service teams, including Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance Service, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and more.

The event included vehicle displays, a live arena with demonstrations from police dogs and fire staff, and even a tug-of-war between the different services. This was in addition to games, activities and food stalls.
