The Importance of Banbury Events
Banbury Town Council aim to bring the town together in key community spaces, while also inviting visitors from far and wide to explore and engage with everything Banbury has to offer. Enjoy food festivals, music nights, arts and entertainment days, cultural performances, family-friendly activities and so much more – all in the heart the town.
Events take place in Market Place, Spiceball Park, People’s Park, St Mary’s Church and along Bridget Street. Events are held near town businesses and invite local traders, strengthening footfall around these valued contributors to the town’s economy.

Attending Banbury events doesn’t just give visitors a look at the best Banbury has to offer; it encourages the public to enjoy a multitude of different community atmospheres while supporting the town’s cultural and economic wellbeing.
Education is another important aspect, with events such as the Battle of Britain service and Remembrance Sunday reminding all generations of the sacrifices made by those that ensured Banbury and the wider country retained the many freedoms they enjoy to this day.
Community Partnerships
Banbury Town Council works in partnership with countless local organisations to make council events the very best they can be. These groups – consisting of businesses, voluntary groups, charities, schools and more. While all of our events this year are led by directly by the council, many benefit from valuable contributions from local radio stations, musicians, stallholders and charity workers, among many others.
Our military events also receive direct contributions from many representatives from groups directly associated with the British Armed Forces, who provide guidance, attractions, promotion, and practical support.

Community-led events play a vital role in strengthening neighbourhood connections, celebrating diversity, and encouraging pride across the town. Banbury Town Council is proud of the impact these events have on local communities, and these events reflect the creativity and commitment of Banbury’s organisations and residents.

Trading at Banbury Town Council Events

Banbury Town Council is always looking for unique and eye-catching stalls and businesses for its events calendar. If you sell artisan food, serve distinctive drinks, or sell handmade / special gifts and crafts we want to hear from you!
What we’re especially keen for is something distinctive – a unique cuisine, a specialised drink or a handcrafted product. We absolutely welcome traders who are passionate about what they make, and offer a stall and products that bring with them quality and creativity.
To ensure a diverse and exciting lineup of stalls for event visitors – and to minimise competition among our valued traders and local businesses, we are often selective about our stalls. We put first original concepts and specialists over menus that offer well-represented dishes, as we are likely to be hosting similar vendors already (with traders local to the town especially prioritised).
If your offering brings something fresh or thoughtfully made, please do get in touch:

- Stationed Attractions – whether a stall or a machine, you can apply for a stationed space at the event.

Perform at a Banbury Town Council Event

One of the highlights of Banbury Town Council events – for visitors, organisers, and partners – is the platforming of local musicians and emerging talent at many of our events. Because of this, we are always looking for talented volunteers, new and established, especially if they are able to help create a friendly, lively and welcoming atmosphere.
We work closely with numerous partners throughout the town, such as Banbury Music Mix Radio, to gather a wide range of artists to suit the many different styles and atmospheres found across our events calendar.
These events include A Taste of Spring, Banbury Show, Armed Forces Day, Town Mayor’s Funday, Banbury Music Mix, Banbury Food & Drink Festival, Banbury Canal Festival, andChristmas Lights Switch On. We do not look for live music performances for Battle of Britain or Remembrance Sunday.
We are particularly interested in acts that are both accessible and – most importantly – family-friendly. All ages are welcome at Banbury Town Council events, and this must be reflected in both the music artists and the song choices. Acoustic musicians, solo artists, duos, small bands, and genre-spanning performers are all welcome to contact us to find out more.

Please note that performance opportunities on Banbury Town Council music stages are voluntary and unpaid, but ideal for artists who would like to perform onstage in front of a live audience, connect with fellow musicians and help to create some of the most memorable event experiences in Banbury.
Our music programme is curated to ensure variety and balance, so we may limit the number of similar-sounding acts at each event. Performers should be comfortable playing to a broad audience, keeping volume levels appropriate for all ages, and working within a shared public space.
There’s no fee to apply, no obligation beyond your setup and performance slot, and you get to enjoy the lively atmosphere of one of our events!
If you’re a local musician looking for an opportunity to be part of our events and connect with new audiences we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that we are unlikely to accept bands and artists whose content includes swearing, political statements, or inappropriate, adult or graphic themes.
