For the next few days, Banbury Town Council will be lit up in purple in support of two awareness days – Pancreatic Cancer Day on Thursday 20th November, and International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day on Saturday 22nd November.
The changing of the lights on the Town Hall, Banbury Cross and the Fine Lady Statue was carried out to highlight the council’s support of both Pancreatic Cancer UK with their #purplelights campaign, as well as the national charity Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS).
Pancreatic Cancer UK is the country’s largest charity dedicated to researching pancreatic cancer, as well as support for those affected by it.
